Image Our nine students on the MA in European History and Civilization all a graduated on August 22nd in Leiden. One, Jan Machielsen, will stay on at Oxford to do a PhD; and Johan Olsthoorn will participate in the upcoming 2006 Europaeum Summer School in Krakow.

Image The Europaeum is supporting an international conference on Das Heilige Romische Reich, 1495-1806, to be held in Oxford from 30 August to 2 September 2006, Some 35 speakers have agreed to participate. About half will be from Germany and Austria; the rest from the USA, Britain and other European countries. The conference will be coordinated by Professor Robert Evans, of Oxford.
