The fourth international Europaeum Economics
Research Group Workshop, on Factors, goods, externalities,
institutions, and mobility, in Europe and beyond was held in Bologna
from the 30th September to 1st October, with 25 participants from five
partner universities. A report is now available: contact the Secretariat for details.

The Europaeum Research Group on "International
and European Social Security Law" met for the first time in Ghent
on 24th November 2005, in a session led by Professors Francis Kessler
(Paris I, pictured), Jukka Kekkonen (Helsinki), and others. Further
meetings will follow.

The Europaeum MA in European History & Civilisation
started in Leiden - to be followed by terms in Paris I, and Oxford -
with inaugural lecture by Professor Jean-Philippe Genet (Paris I) on European History: Union or Disunion (Leiden, 8 September).

The Europaeum supported a conference at Helsinki University: Bi-
and Multilingual Universities: challenges and future prospects, 1-3
September, 2005. Travel bursaries were available for Europaeum
participants. Details are available on the Helsinki website.

A Europaeum Summer School on Effective Multilateral Governance: The Way Forward?, was held on 18th - 24th September, 2005, at the Graduate Institute of
International Studies, Geneva. Three student places were available for each
partner university. The programme is available online. |

To mark the 250th anniversary of the Social Contract, a lecture series ran,
supported by the Europaeum. It featured contributions from Alain Badiou, Etienne Balibar and
others, at the Maison Française d'Oxford. A programme can be found on this site.
