Connecting Europe Through History
The Europaeum and EUROCLIO - European Association of History Educators have been awarded a grant by the European Union Education and Culture DG 'Europe for Citizens' Programme to hold a series of events and workshops across Europe on the theme "Human rights in Europe? Tolerance, Democracy, Citizenship, Critical thinking and Multiperspectivity as European Values" during 2007-2008 academic year.
More than 15 seperate events, including conferences, seminars, and lectures, were organised at member institutes of both organising partners. All topics were related to this theme. The main aim was to collect in-depth information about the various discussions in History Education in Europe and to further develop these into mature results at a final conference. Each event strived to act as a bridge builder between secondary and higher education professionals and academics, nationally and internationally. Full text of the EUROCLIO Connecting Europe Publication will follow shortly. |
