| Culture, Humanities & Technology in Europe |
The programme was launched in 2003, to study how the Humanties (and Social Sciences) have changed in the light of the ICT revolution. Themes included:
In 2003, at Oxford, a conference was held on The Future for European Humanities (linking Oxford, Paris and Prague). In 2005 a Prague workshop looked at New Information Technologies and the Future of the Humanities. At a planning meeting in Paris in 2005, it was agreed to hold an event focussing on key questions concerned with digitisation of archives and library holdings (see page 56). Linked to this programme, and to the research group working on European Identity: Reason, Science, Law, is the ERPG looking at Cultural Difference in Europe (see pages 21 and 23 for details). |
