The Europaeum has commissioned a research survey of students and academics from its member institutions and selected additional universities in Europe and the United States, to investigate attitudes towards Information and Communication Technology in university learning. Pressures from students towards greater use of technology will be measured and contrasted with the extent to which they are already being used in each institution, and the perceived benefits of, and obstacles to, the uptake of new methods.

Initial findings from this research, which is itself being conducted online, were presented to the first expert conference in Berlin, with more detailed findings from a larger sample being prepared for the second conference in Paris:
