Introduction
The objectives are threefold. To provide research students in economics and other relevant social sciences from Europaeum partner universities, with an opportunity to present and discuss research papers related to European integration issues; to provide advanced survey lectures on recent development in the field; to foster fruitful exchanges and cooperation among different European graduate schools.
Themes to be covered will include:
- European economic integration, EMU and convergence (a macro perspective)
- Economic regionalisation and trade in Europe (a micro perspective)
- The implications of institutional reform of the European Union
- The economics and politics of the Enlargement of the European Union
- Regional integration and globalisation: problems, challenges and perspectives
Lectures will be provided by Professors of Economics from the Europaeum universities. The working language is English. The workshop will be organized as combination of morning survey lectures and afternoon presentations of student papers. The Europaeum will provide full board and lodging in Oxford (six days) for selected participants. Participants are expected to cover their own travel costs.
