The Europaeum is organising an international conference next September in Oxford on the theme of Federalisms - East and West, looking at current thinking and concepts of Federalism in Europe as compared with other major world regions, notably India, Canada, and the US. The Academic Director will be Professor David Marquand, former Chair of the Oxford Europaeum Group, member of the Europaeum Council, and former Principal of Mansfield College, Oxford University. Funding has been pledged by the James Madison Trust and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, and in partnership with the Universitaire Libre, Brussels.

We will be looking for leading experts in the field from the Europaeum to take part. The steering group, chaired by Prof Marquand and involving key representatives from the funding bodies and partners, will be meeting over the autumn and more information will follow early in the new year.

Please contact the Europaeum office if you are interested in taking part.
