Jenkins' Scholars Elected Print E-mail

ImageFour new Jenkins Scholars have just started their studies at Europaeum universities - three awards at Oxford, and one award at Europaeum university. For full details see the attached press notice. In addition, one Oxford scholar denied access to Geneva, elected earlier, will be carrying out his studies this year. Two other elected scholars have not taken up their studies - one dropped out and another chose to take up an alternative scholarship award. More than 25 awards have now been made since the scheme was launched in partnership with the Europaeum in 2004.

The scholarship scheme, which honours the lifelong devotion of the former President of the European Commission and Chancellor of the University of Oxford, is linked to the Europaeum, which Roy Jenkins helped to found in the 1990s to help academics, intellectuals and young scholars ‘bridge Europe’.

The 2009-10 Jenkins Scholars have linked the universities of Bologna, Bonn, and Oxford. Click here to view the Press Release.
